Named “gen-z’s ascendant king of sad boy pop” – Conan Gray is shaping what it means to be a pop star in his generation.
Building a loyal fanbase through YouTube, from the age of 12, Gray shot & edited all videos of himself. From his first experiences of song writing, sketching Anime to playing guitar, he connected with his fans as they watched him develop into the artist he is today.
This attention eventually got him a record deal with Republic & he managed to quietly climb to the forefront of pop on the back of his debut EP, Sunset Season, and a string of successful singles.
Gaining fans in Billie Eilish, BTS, The 1975 to name just a few, Conan has managed to sell out three North American tours & a European tour as well as supporting Panic! At The Disco.
In the midst of all this, he managed to put together his full-length debut album Kid Krow, he says about the project: “I’m not the coolest person on earth; I don’t think I could ever convince anybody I am,” he exclaims.
“Kid Krow is me accepting the fact I’m weird, and I’ll always be weird. I was on the phone with my best friend, and she said I was a crow. I laughed, but it totally made sense. I’ll never be like other people. For the first time, I don’t necessarily feel the need to. I want the album to be for everyone else. When they listen to it, I want them to think, ‘I’m not crazy for feeling this way’.”
In anticipation of Kid Krow releasing next month, we’re excited to be supporting Conan Gray as our PUSH artist for February.
