Time to put Norway into the limelight!
Are you prepared for more music from Norway’s biggest export since A-ha, Kygo?! He has released his new single into the world, and is ready to take over the radio airwaves once again. So is superblogger Sophie Elise, she’s back with her second single. Other than that, we have a great remix ready for you guys. We’ve got music from a brand new Bergen-duo, and a british smash hit written by our very own Ina Wroldsen. So let’s get on with it, cause here is the latest edition of the ‘Beat of Norway’.
Sophie Elise – Love Like That
Norway’s reigning blog queen Sophie Elise is ready to give her music career another go. Her debut single ‘Lionheart’ did surprisingly well, and now she is back with a new single. This time around, she has gone in a different direction, and made more of a simplistic beat driven love-ballad. ‘Love Like That’ sounds heavily inspired by Selena Gomez’s latest Bieber-track ‘The Heart Wants What It Wants’, which is quite the compliment, as we simply love Selena!
Do you agree, with this being surprisingly enjoyable? Or should she stick to blogging? Here’s a little teaser of the track:
Listen to it in full on Spotify or iTunes.Tove Styrke – Ego (Bearson Remix) Tove is finally ready to get back into the music spotlight. She competed on ‘Swedish Idol’ all the way back in 2009, released a great debut album, and then disappeared. Luckily for us, she has used the time away to find her own sound, and to create a lot of great new music. Her EP is already out, and now we have a great remix to add to it. Norwegian Bearson is already a DJ/Producer-favourite of ours, and he doesn’t let us down this time either. He’s given the song his own spin!
Welcome back Tove, and great job Bearson!
Here is Ego (Bearson Remix):
Now we can finally move on from ‘Firestone’. Kygo is ready to follow up his HUGE smash hit and proper debut single. The new track is called ‘Stole The Show’, and he stays true to his sound with a proper dose of soft tropical beats. This rime around, Parson James is responsible for the vocals. He sounds great, but it is impossible to ignore the similarites to UK *X Factor*-star Olly Murs’s voice. Anyways, the track is perfectly radio friendly and sticks to your brain right away.
Check out the brand new video below, and see if Kygo is able to steal the show all over again.
Hage – The Taste
If you are a fan of Swedish duo First Aid Kit, then this will be right up your street. These two girls from Bergen deliver beautiful harmonies, accompanied by a sweet melody on their debut single ‘The Taste’. This is a very promising start, and we are curious to see what more they have to offer.
Press play and give this very pretty song a spin.
Jess Glynne - Hold My Hand
This might be a bit of a stretch, as this is supposed to be exclusive to Norwegian musicians. Still, we couldn’t stop ourselves from writing about this incredibly feel-good track from Jess Glynne. You might not recognise that name, but you’ve deifinitely heard her voice before, as she is the one singing on Clean Bandit’s -‘Rather Be’. ‘Hold My Hand’ is written in part by our very own Ina Wroldsen, which gives us an excuse to include it in the Beat of Norway. The song is currently sitting pretty at the top of the UK iTunes, and the rest of the world will most likely follow shortly.
