Jennifer Lopez hasn't reunited with Casper Smart as she's always been with him, it's claimed.
Jennifer Lopez never broke up with Casper Smart, according to a new report.
The 45-year-old singer-and-actress was said to have split from the backing dancer in June last year, following claims he’d been unfaithful – which he denied.
It’s now been suggested that although the pair did briefly go their separate ways, it only lasted a day or two. They are then said to have worked out their differences, but decided not to be open about rekindling their relationship.
According to TMZ, it worked in both their favours to fly under the radar. Jennifer had her sexy movie The Boy Next Door to promote, with suggestions bosses felt there would be more interest if she was single while she did so. Casper was also working on a film – called Street, about UFC fighters – and the same rationale reportedly applied.
There is credence to the claims the pair never split, as they have been spotted together on many occasions. Previously it was thought they had remained on good terms and Casper still wanted to see Jennifer’s seven-year-old twins Max and Emme, but now it seems that was just a cover.
Not long after the reported breakup they were spotted cruising in a convertible sports car together, but attempted to hide themselves when spotted by paparazzi.
They have also been seen at restaurants with each other and TMZ reports that Casper was seen in his nightwear at Jennifer’s house in January.
He was also at the Los Angeles premiere of Jennifer’s new animated flick Home earlier this month, but at the time it was thought he was just lending support.
On Wednesday, the pair were caught locking lips backstage at the taping of American Idol, where Jennifer serves as a judge.
“We got a lot of ties. We’re very close,” he told E! News on Monday. “We’re friends. We’re very good friends.”
Over the last few months Jennifer has repeatedly spoken about being single, insisting it felt good to take some time for herself. She’s been married three times and had a string of other high-profile relationships, such as with Puff Daddy and Ben Affleck, and admitted she had a skewed idea about love when she was younger.
“The first person who shows up and gives me a little comfort and we have a little chemistry, boom, we’re in!” she said on the Today Show late last year.
“The true love, I realised, was the love that I was missing inside of myself, for myself. I had confidence in what I could do, I didn’t have confidence in who I was and what I had to offer just as a girl."
