The MTV Staying Alive Foundation announces Tinie Tempah as their new ambassador
Today marks a special day for the MTV Staying Alive Foundation, as they unveil their brand spankingnew ambassador, global superstar, Tinie Tempah. That’s right; the ‘Written In The Stars’ rapper will be joining the likes of Kelly Rowland, Keri Hilson, and Becca Dudley to join MTV Staying Alive in the global fight against HIV.
HIV/AIDS is not only the number one killer of adolescents in Africa, 42% of all new HIV infections occur in young people. Tinie will help MTV Staying Alive increase awareness of HIV/AIDS and raise funds to boost the charity’s youth-focussed HIV-prevention work around the world.
HIV is an issue close to the rapper’s heart, and Tinie name Patrick Okogwu—has been outspoken about why he chose to represent MTV Staying Alive, saying: If we’re going to end HIV, then we need to raise awareness and get people talking. I think it’s my duty, and the duty of other artists, to use their platform and their voice for social good. I can’t wait to help "MTV Staying Alive positively impact the lives of young people around world.”
