Big Sean: Everyone gets my music

Big Sean insists his new song isn't about his relationship with Ariana Grande.

Big Sean thinks real people can relate to his new track.

The American rapper has teamed up with real life girlfriend Ariana Grande on song Research, which is about a girl worried her boyfriend is cheating.

While he insists the song is not about him and Ariana, he does think this is a situation a lot of men find themselves in.

“Recording Research with Ariana was super cool, she was super cool about it. What I like about this song is that it’s not about our situation, it’s not about me and her. But I appreciated her for being down and talk about it,” Sean told MTV News.

“It deals with relationships and going through different things but it’s real stuff that people go through that people can relate to. So I appreciate her being an artist and being down and doing the song regardless of what we got going on. I appreciate her, it’s one of my favourites.”

Sean’s motto has always been to keep it real, and it seems that his fans appreciate it.

Track IDFWU recently proved that to him. The song was released last September, as the lead single from his third studio album Dark Sky Paradise.

“It even got a little bigger than I thought. I saw Gwyneth Paltrow singing it on Jimmy Fallon one time and I said this track is for real. People can relate to just real stuff. That’s what that song showed me, no matter how much cursing is in it or this or that, as long as you keep it real, people are going to support it,” he recently told The Daily Beast.
