Hailee Steinfeld feels very fortunate to have landed such amazing opportunities in her career.
Hailee Steinfeld used to “overanalyse” Twitter.
The 18-year-old actress is a big fan of social media and has nearly 200,000 followers on the site, as well as regularly posting snaps on Instagram.
While she used to be warier of what she wrote for the world to see, Hailee has now let her guard down a little and focuses on the enjoyment of interacting with fans.
“I’m getting better at it too. I’m now more the second option than I was the first,” she told Collider when asked whether she debates what to write or throws caution to the wind. “I used to literally sit there forever and overanalyse it way too much. But now I’m just like, you know what? Whatever, right? I think it’s fun – it’s a crazy thing, Twitter, but it’s cool.”
Hailee made her big screen debut as Mattie Ross in 2010 western True Grit alongside Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon. It’s been a whirlwind journey for the star since then, with four films currently in the pipeline, including Pitch Perfect 2 and Barely Lethal.
The fame hasn’t gone to Hayley’s head though and she is still bowled over by how lucky she has been.
“The last two years have been extremely exciting and just… I don’t know, really awesome. I’ve been very fortunate and have had some really cool opportunities. But I have kind of gone non-stop the last two years going project to project,” she explained. “It’s funny because when I did my first movie True Grit I was 13 and the movie came out the same year that we shot it. So it was a very quick turnaround and I was still coming off the high of making the movie and then I came out. So it was this whole year of this madness.”
