Kendall Jenner is scared of leaving her teenage years behind.
Kendall Jenner feels like she was “brought up to be a workaholic”.
The 19-year-old is a highly successful model, but rose to fame thanks to her family’s reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians. And the star feels that such exposure coupled with so many older brothers and sisters led to a shortened childhood.
“I feel like I grew up too fast a long time ago," she said in The Columnist segment of The Wall Street Journal. “Having older siblings, you grow up around adults, so you mature more quickly. I saw my sisters and parents working every day, so I was pretty much brought up to be a workaholic.”
Kendall weighed in on the topic of youth in the article and it’s something she can definitely bring some perspective to, having first appeared on the reality show when she was just 12 years old.
With her entire teenage years spent under the media spotlight, the brunette beauty is a little apprehensive of moving into her next age bracket.
“But I just turned 19 a couple weeks ago, and I’m scared to be 20,” she confessed. “It’s the first step out of being a teenager.”
However with three older sisters, Kourtney, Kim and Khloé, Kendall is spoilt for choice when it comes to agony aunts. But it’s Khloé who has offered the best advice about growing up.
“My sister Khloé always says to me and my younger sister, Kylie ‘You have your whole life to be an adult but only so long to be a kid.’ And we get it," she added. “In the right situations, I try to be as immature as I can sometimes — react to things as if I were 12. You can’t take things too seriously.”
