British Royals land in NYC

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in New York City Sunday night for their royal American tour.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have landed in New York City.

Prince William and his pregnant wife Catherine Middleton are paying a royal visit to the Big Apple and Washington D.C. for a few days.

After landing at John F. Kennedy airport in a British Airways flight on Sunday, the pair were driven to the Carlyle Hotel in the Upper East Side in a motorcade. Once they arrived at their temporary lodging, they were greeted by hundreds of screaming fans.

Although Catherine is very pregnant right now, it’s believed she will be partaking in many activities during her stay in New York City and Washington D.C.

“Her programme has been put together to take account for the fact that she is five months pregnant and had an illness for the first stage of her pregnancy,” a source told UK newspaper The Telegraph.

“[But] the Duchess has told us that if she is feeling up to it she would like to join her husband at the Empire State Building on Tuesday.”

Iconic landmark the Empire State building gave the royals a warm welcome by lighting up the top of the edifice with red, white and blue, the colours of Britain’s flag.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are said to be meeting with President Barack Obama and his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama, during their stay on America’s East Coast.

They are also expected to attend a Brooklyn Nets basketball game, where Prince William and Catherine are reportedly planning on meeting Jay-Z and Beyoncé Knowles.
