Hilary Duff: I'm fighting for love

Hilary Duff is still figuring out her relationship with estranged husband Mike Comrie but says her son's happiness is what's most important.

Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie are fighting for happiness.

The blonde star and husband Mike tied the knot in August 2010 and have son Luca, two, together.

In January of this year the couple announced their separation but in recent months Hilary has spoken openly about a possible reconciliation. They were even spotted holding hands on Halloween, with Hilary admitting they’re still figuring things out.

“We have a two-year-old together. We love each other. Obviously it wasn’t a rash decision that we made. We really are just trying to figure out how we are the most happy—whether together or apart—and we’re doing it as lovingly as possible,” she revealed to Health magazine. "We would hang out without Luca; we think it’s important to keep a strong relationship no matter if we’re married or not married. And we love our son. We both want to fight for happiness.”

Hilary became famous in the early noughties playing teen star Lizzie McGuire in the TV show of the same name. She went on to enjoy a successful movie and music career before settling into family life.

Talking about how her life has changed over the last few years, the 27-year-old says she’s grateful she now has time for herself and her young son.

“I have found that since I had Luca and took a substantial time off, it really helped me. Before, I would make a record and be working on a movie and then do a tour, so I didn’t have time to sit and breathe and just be comfortable with me. I got a broken heart during that time, and I had to do a lot of soul-searching. It was rough. It was an emotional two years," she confessed.
