Adele 'wants joke portrait'

Adele is said to have commissioned street-artist Pegasus to paint a humorous picture of her.

Adele has reportedly commissioned street artist Pegasus to paint a portrait of her.

Proving she doesn’t take herself too seriously, the British songstress has called upon the talents of someone known for his humorous creations for her new artwork.

It was after she saw a piece made for her close friend, British TV host Alan Carr, that Adele decided Pegasus was her man. The picture depicts the comedian as the queen, complete with a crown and pursed lips.

“Adele has been in touch saying that she wants Pegasus to paint her," a source told British newspaper Daily Star. “She’s also asked for album artwork to be in the painting, as well as cars and some of her other favourite things.

“She wants the painting to be iconic. Pegasus painted her friend Alan Carr and as soon as she saw his hilarious picture she wanted one of her own.”

Some of the artist’s recent work includes a portrait of Lindsay Lohan in a famous Marilyn Monroe pose and a nude of Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge with a tiny crown sitting atop her pregnant belly.

Adele, 26, is said to be a big appreciator of art and champions pieces by up-and-coming people.

“She loves art, and her home is covered in loads of artwork. She particularly likes to display the work of lesser-known British artists in her home.

“Adele’s extremely excited about Pegasus and is certain that he’ll be the next big thing," the source added.

Adele, who is mother to two-year-old son Angelo with partner Simon Konecki, was announced as one of the stars taking part in charity single Band Aid 30 earlier this week.

She joins the likes of One Direction, Ed Sheeran and Chris Martin to record a new version of Do They Know It’s Christmas? to help raise funds for the victims of Ebola.
