Carrie Underwood's CMA Awards co-host Brad Paisley jokes she should name her baby boy Garth.
Carrie Underwood appears to have confirmed she’s expecting a baby boy.
The 31-year-old country music singer, who is pregnant with her first child with husband Mike Fisher, debuted her baby bump on the red carpet at the CMA Awards Wednesday night.
The star later took the stage with her co-host Brad Paisley, who blurted out some unexpected news during a skit.
“And we’re pregnant!” he joked with the audience, prompting Carrie to exclaim: "Brad, I don’t remember you being there!”
“Carrie, you can’t keep me out of this child’s life,” he insisted, asking if she was expecting a boy or girl.
“I know something you all don’t know. Suck it, TMZ,” he bragged after Carrie whispered in his ear.
“We should name him Garth!” Brad later added, referencing country music legend Garth Brooks while gesturing to Carrie’s growing stomach.
Carrie announced she was expecting in September, and has been open about her pregnancy in the weeks since.
She recently admitted she’s had an easier time than she thought she would carrying the baby.
“I feel really good,” she said during the interview on CMT Hot 20 Countdown last month. “I think I’ve been really lucky in my symptoms thus far.”
The Blown Away hitmaker and her hockey player husband married in 2010, two years after they met.
Carrie recently opened up about her desire to become a mother, sharing that she would love to have at least “two” kids.
“Three is fine. Four? Somebody’s getting something done, because we ain’t having five!” she laughed to America’s Self magazine.
