Britney 'takes one for the team' in Vegas

Britney Spears apparently doesn't want to perform to a half-empty theater during her Las Vegas residency.

Britney Spears is reportedly happy to perform in Vegas for the next few years because of the job security it provides her crew.

The American hit maker started her residency at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino last December, with the show a rousing success. This led to an extension of her gigs, with Britney signing a contract that takes her up to 2017. However, ticket sales are said to have stalled. But those close to the blonde star claim she hasn’t done it for the cash.

“Britney doesn’t need the money. The security of two more years is great for her dancers, crew, and everyone involved, though, so she’ll stick it out," an insider told Radar.

Britney’s new contract is thought to pocket the star a hefty $30million, but those close to her say she’d be less than thrilled to perform to empty seats.

“She said that there was no way in hell that she would perform to a half-empty theatre,” the source said, adding Britney thrives off the audience’s energy.

“When everyone thought that they had to go see her or else, the place was packed. But now that it is long-term, everything seems to have changed.”

However, Britney hasn’t let things get her down and enjoyed her recent Britneyween, a special Halloween show.

The 32-year-old and her dancers dressed up for the event, donning weird and wonderful costumes. Britney went for a sexy geek look, wearing a miniskirt, stockings and glasses.

Over the weekend she also entertained American funnywoman Kathy Griffin, who was in the crowd on Saturday evening.

“Spent last evening w Miss @BritneySpears here in #Vegas, woke up w rug burns! What happened? (sic)” Kathy tweeted.

“@kathygriffin Great having you at the show. I’m sure that happens to you a lot Kathy (sic)," Britney fired back.
