Best Belgian Act Spotlight: Triggerfinger

This week we’re aiming our light at the Belgian rockband Triggerfinger!

Triggerfinger is a Belgian rock band from Lier, formed in 1998. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Ruben Block, bassist Paul Van Bruystegem and Mario Goossens as drummer. The band released their self-titled debut album ‘Triggerfinger’ in 2004, the album was followed by a live album called ‘Faders Up’, which featured several of their previous album’s songs as well as a few covers of other bands. The following year, they released their next studio album called ‘What Grabs Ya?’, but it was the release of their third album ‘All This Dancin’ Around’ which put them on the map. In April 2012, their acoustic cover of Lykke Li’s pop hit “I Follow Rivers” reached number one in both Belgium and The Netherlands, marking Triggerfinger’s first chart hit.

At the end of 2012 the band won four Flemish Music Industry Awards or MIAs, such as hit of the year, best group, best alternative music and best live-act, and in 2013 Triggerfinger supported the Rolling Stones and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

In 2014 they released their fourth studio album called ‘By Absence Of The Sun’ and now they’re up for the MTV EMA best Belgian act award! Will they win? Well that’s up to you! Vote for Triggerfinger over at here & now!
