Katy Perry and Harry Styles are said to have been "pretty happy" together during their date last month.
Katy Perry was reportedly “touched” that Harry Styles reached out to her.
The One Direction hunk and 29-year-old singer are said to have dined together in Malibu last month, hitting up hot spot Nobu for a meal. They apparently looked “pretty happy” throughout the evening while spending time in each other’s company.
However, Harry, 20, reportedly worries Katy’s invitation to go out stemmed from her rumoured feud with his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift. The Shake It Off singer ranted about a fellow music star during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in September, and some people have come to the conclusion that the mystery musician is Katy.
“I think he’s concerned Katy’s playing him to get back at Taylor for supposedly bad-mouthing her. Harry reached out to Katy, because if anyone knows how Taylor can be sometimes, it’s him,” a source told British magazine Look. “Katy was touched and asked him to dinner. She’s enjoying it, but there may be a little element of revenge behind it too.”
But that isn’t to say Katy and Harry aren’t getting along. She has had high-profile relationships in the past, including a marriage to Russell Brand and public romance with John Mayer, so allegedly knows how to handle things.
“They like each other. Katy and DJ Diplo are casually dating but she’s developed a huge crush on Harry, which she calls ‘unexpected’,” the source added. “He looks up to Katy and loves that he isn’t your typical needy twentysomething.”
During her interview, Taylor insisted the bitterness between her and the mystery celebrity, captured in her track Bad Blood, isn’t about a man, but both females did date musician John.
“It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour,” Taylor revealed. “She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”
