LC: Hubby needed hankie over my vows

Lauren Conrad wrote her own wedding vows, which made husband William Tell blub.

Lauren Conrad kept notes on her phone of wedding vow ideas.

The American star, who rose to fame on reality TV series The Hills, married beau William Tell in a lavish ceremony last Saturday.

To make sure her vows were truly heartfelt, Lauren opted to write them herself and would often find inspiration when she was out and about.

“I kept a folder in my phone, and whenever I thought of something, I’d add it," Lauren told Us Weekly magazine. “He needed a hankie! I kept it together.

“I don’t know that I have ever been as happy as I was walking down that aisle. It was amazing!"

Her big day was everything she dreamed of, and Lauren wowed in a gown custom made by Badgley Mischka.

While Lauren, 28, is known for her flawless fashion sense, she still wanted William’s input when it came to the special dress.

However, the former musician didn’t want to know what his bride-to-be would be wearing.

“She would ask me for dress advice and I would stick my fingers in my ears and hum. I just wanted to be surprised!" he recalled.

However, his musical background meant he did want a say when it came to the tunes.

“I wanted a band that plays weddings and knows how to get grandmas dancing,” he smiled. "And I wanted a Motown vibe because that’s the style of music I love.”

Food was also a big priority for the loved-up pair, as they didn’t want their guests going hungry. Apple pies, beef tenderloin and Tuscan roasted chicken were just some of the menu choices their friends and family tucked into.

The gourmet food was washed down by a host of cocktails, which Lauren started drinking before proceedings kicked off.

“If someone hands me a cocktail before I walk into the ceremony, they are my new best friend," she laughed.
