Josh Hutcherson believes actors shouldn’t have to accept privacy invasion because of their celebrity status.
Josh Hutcherson thinks recent celebrity nude picture leaks are “not fair”.
The 21-year-old actor has worked with Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence for several years, as they are co-stars in The Hunger Games film franchise.
Nude photographs of Jennifer were leaked by hackers onto the internet on August 31 and Josh is appalled by the entire situation.
“Actually I haven’t talked to her but I just think all that stuff is so ridiculous,” he told ET Canada. “We’re people too man, we just want to live, we want to be normal people, it’s not fair.”
Josh doesn’t believe actors should have to accept privacy invasion because of their fame.
The star insists he chose to be in his industry to perform his craft, not to be involved in media controversy.
“We are actors, we didn’t get into this because we wanted scandal,” he explained. “We want to live our lives and be actors and like Jen and I always say…people say well you chose to be an actor you are going to have to deal with this kind of thing…well no, I started when I was 9 years old she started when she was like 12.
“We didn’t chose to have public scandal, we chose to become artists of acting and I love making movies this is what I can do, this is what I am good at. So its like because this is what I am good at and this is my career means I also have to suffer on this other side? Like, it’s not very fair.”
Josh and Jennifer’s new film, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, will be released in US cinemas on November 21.
