Elisabeth Moss is on the lookout for new TV roles now Mad Men has finished filming.
Elisabeth Moss would do anything to appear in Downton Abbey.
The American actress made a name for herself playing Peggy Olson in smash hit series Mad Men.
As the show, set in the advertising world of the 1960s, gets ready to come to an end next year, Elisabeth is trying to scout out new roles – starting with new movie Queen of the Earth alongside Downton star Michelle Dockery.
“Michelle and I have been close for a few years. We met at an awards ceremony and became fast friends. I adore her and I really wanted to be a part of the film. I’m so excited she agreed. I can’t believe I’m going to work with Lady Mary!” Elisabeth gushed to Britain’s Grazia magazine, in reference to Michelle’s onscreen alter ego.
“I’d love to be on Downton Abbey in the future, I’d do absolutely anything to get a part! I have so much more time to concentrate on new projects now that Mad Men is done. There are so many good shows on TV right now, I’m open to anything.”
The final episodes of Mad Men are slated for the beginning of 2015 and will bring the curtain down on seven successful seasons. Since it burst onto TV screens in 2007, Mad Men has won four Golden Globes and a total of 15 Emmy awards.
The cast, including Jon Hamm, Christina Hendricks and January Jones, may have said their goodbyes, but Elisabeth is adamant they’ll all remain close.
“It was extremely emotional filming the final scenes. We knew the end was coming but it’s not something you can prepare for. There were tears, everyone was crying. I’m not naming names,” she laughed.
“I wanted to enjoy it, have a great experience then leave it. But I’ll definitely miss it but I’m only saying goodbye to the character. The people are my family – we’ll always be part of each other’s lives.”
