Duff ‘contacts FBI’

Hilary Duff has reportedly contacted federal investigators over the celebrity nude photo scandal.

Hilary Duff has reportedly contacted the FBI over the mass celebrity nude photo leak.

The actress-and-singer was among a list of stars said to be depicted in dozens of images that spilled across the internet over the weekend.

Hilary’s representative reportedly tells TMZ the alleged photos of Hilary are fakes, however, the star’s team has alerted federal investigators nonetheless.

The spokesperson said links to the images in question were forwarded to the authorities and warned that anyone found attributing them to Hilary will “meet legal recourse”.

No further details were provided.

The 26-year-old star was among over 100 celebrities reportedly affected when a hacker allegedly ripped images from iCloud and made them available via a bulletin board-style site called 4chan.

Apple said earlier this week none of the thefts it investigated in the case had “resulted from any breach in any of Apple’s systems, including iCloud or Find my iPhone”.

Several stars and their representatives have meanwhile spoken out to slam the person or persons responsible as the investigation continues.

A spokesperson for Jennifer Lawrence said at the weekend authorities had been contacted on the actress’ behalf, calling the incident a “flagrant violation of privacy”.

Kate Upton’s lawyer subsequently branded the hack “outrageous”, telling MailOnline her team intends “to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible”.

FBI spokesperson Laura Eimiller confirmed the agency’s involvement earlier this week.

“The FBI is aware of the allegations concerning computer intrusions and the unlawful release of material involving high profile individuals, and is addressing the matter. Any further comment would be inappropriate at this time,” she told the LA Times.
