A woman who crashed into Dwayne Johnson’s mother’s car has been charged with DUI.

On Monday, Dwayne, aka The Rock, posted a heartfelt message and shocking picture of the aftermath of the near-fatal crash that took place in Clermont, Florida, on August 2.

And now the female driver of the other car has been charged with driving under the influence, according to TMZ.

The website also claims police have asked the prosecutors to get an arrest warrant for the allegedly drunk driver.

The horrific crash occurred when the suspect allegedly drove through two red lights during a police chase before crashing into the car carrying Hercules star Dwayne’s mother Ata Johnson and cousin Lina Fanene.

Ata, Lina and the driver of the other car were all hospitalised for their injuries.

Former pro wrestler Dwayne first revealed news of the crash on his Facebook page, writing: "My mom and cousin were struck head on by a drunk driver this week – they survived.

“My first reaction was to find the person who did this and do unrelenting harm to them. But then you realize the most important thing is that my family lived thru this and we can hug each other that much tighter these days. (sic)”

The 42-year-old actor also took to his Twitter account, urging followers to think before they get behind the wheel drunk.

“My mom and cousin were hit head on by a drunk driver. They lived. This was 100% preventable. #ChoicesMatter (sic),” he shared.
