Lea Michele says it “hasn’t always been easy” being comfortable in her own skin.
Lea Michele hasn’t always found it easy to love the way she looks.
The Glee star admits that she often struggles to feel comfortable in her own skin. But Lea credited a healthy upbringing for helping her to learn to feel confident and happy in herself.
“It’s not something that happens overnight,” Lea told Organic Spa magazine. “Although I’m grateful that I was raised to be happy in my own skin, it’s not always easy. Sometimes what you hear and think you need to be can start to be that little annoying voice in your head. But I think taking great care of yourself and being kind to your heart and body is a good place to start.”
Lea makes sure she sticks to a daily fitness and beauty regime which adds to her positive outlook on life.
And the 27–year-old also reveals she makes sure that her social circle is one that makes her feel good.
“Always surround yourself with people who uplift you,” she said. “Remember it starts inside; to feel truly beautiful you have to love yourself inside and out.”
Lea also reveals the person who she finds most inspirational in her life is her mother.
The star, who has also wowed on Broadway, has always been close to retired nurse Edith, and credits her for keeping her inspired on a daily basis.
“My mother inspires me personally every day,” she smiled. “She is so beautiful inside and out. Professionally, there are so many people I look up to. I believe personal and professional role models are very important and always keep you inspired.”
