Claflin’s ‘marriage achievement’

Sam Claflin says being married to wife Laura Haddock improves his quality of life.

Sam Claflin thinks getting married is “one of the greatest achievements”.

The Quiet Ones actor tied the knot with British actress Laura Haddock in July 2013 after dating for two years.

Sam is proud of the union and he’s convinced their marriage grows stronger everyday.

“Getting married was easily one of the greatest achievements of the past 12 months,” he revealed in an interview with Glamour UK for their July 2014 issue. “To have a wife with such wondrous, creative imagination, who planned every inch of it, made the day all the more special. Every five seconds I find myself falling harder and deeper in love with her.”

Sam was recently dubbed Man of the Year at the 2014 GLAMOUR Awards.

And the humble actor says he didn’t anticipate receiving all this praise.

“It was a tad unexpected, to say the least, but i feel very honoured,” he said. “I’ll continue to do what I’m doing so as not to let you down! I feel truly privileged to have my name along all the previous winners. Thank you very much.”

The 27-year-old actor has been propelled into the limelight after landing the role of Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games franchise.

And although Sam stars in one of the most popular fantasy series in the world, the star prefers a different kind of genre when he’s having a movie night.

“I love horror movies,” he gushed to Total Film previously.

“I’m a big fan of films like Paranormal Activity, lying awake with my wife, listening to every sound in the house…”
