Harington ‘lies about Game of Thrones’

Kit Harington jokes the best way to keep friends and family at bay when they’re asking what happens in Game of Thrones is by fibbing to them.

Kit Harington admits he lies frequently to loved ones about Game of Thrones.

The 27-year-old actor plays Jon Snow, a Night’s Watch soldier, in the highly popular HBO series based off George R. R. Martin’s famous novels.

Audiences are often left at the edge of their seats after watching an episode, and Kit thinks fibbing is the perfect way to circumvent questions about what happens next in the storyline.

“It’s the funniest when you lie and say something like, ‘So-and-so dies next episode,’ and they go, ‘Really?’ ” he laughed to Page Six.

Kit lends his voice to a character in the DreamWorks/20th Century Fox film How to Train Your Dragon 2, a story about two friends keeping the peace after discovering a secret cave where hundreds of dragons reside.

And the actor definitely sees parallels between Game of Thrones and his new animated feature.

“It’s contractual . . . I now say I don’t do any movie that doesn’t have some kind of scaly, fire-breathing creature in it,” he joked.

Kit recently spoke about other behind the scenes Game of Thrones happenings.

The star revealed his hair is worth so much to HBO executives he isn’t allowed to cut it off.

“It has its own contract, definitely,” he revealed during a chat on American daytime TV show LIVE with Kelly and Michael. “I never thought I’d say that about my own hair … I’m not allowed to cut it, and I didn’t realise this until recently. I wanted to cut it — I’ve had long hair for ages — and and they were like, ‘No, no, no. That won’t be happening.’”
