Maisie Williams talks ‘fangirling’

Maisie Williams thinks Game of Thrones fans are the absolute best to interact with.

Maisie Williams is in awe over Game of Thrones “fangirling”.

The 17-year-old British actress portrays Arya Stark in HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones and she thinks fans of the show are simply the best.

Maisie admits she is extremely entertained when viewers come up to her in public shrieking at the top of their lungs, a phenomenon dubbed fangirling.

“Nearly every single day, when I leave the house, I am recognised. People want photos or just to chat — it’s really lovely,” she gushed to Us Weekly.

“I stay in touch with Sophie Turner, and if someone recognises one of us, they’ll often not realise there’s Arya and Sansa. They’re fangirling so much, they don’t even look over!”

Maisie has developed quite a strong bond with numerous members of the Game of Thrones cast.

She and Rory McCann, who plays Arya’s travelling companion The Hound, have even developed their own language.

“Before breakfast, he’s not the happiest chappie, but after, he’s the loveliest guy. We have our own ‘egg language’ that Rory taught me. If the day is getting really long, he’ll say, ‘Are we nearly finished?’ in our language. Everyone else is like, ‘What the hell are you two doing?’ We have a good laugh,” Maisie shared.

The teenager recently spoke of her intense desire to get her driver’s licence.

And she is happy to report she’ll likely hit the road just months from now.

“I started driving lessons!” she said. “I can’t wait to get my own car.”
