Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are reportedly planning a small wedding, although they haven't set a date yet.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard reportedly won’t have a big wedding because they’ve already had “the big hoopla”.
The couple first met while they were shooting 2011’s The Rum Diary and got together after Johnny split from his long-term partner Vanessa Paradis.
They are now engaged, which they celebrated with a big bash for 100 people held at Carondelet House in Los Angeles a couple of months ago. Apparently their actual wedding ceremony will be less lavish.
“They had an engagement party for their friends in March that they viewed as the big hoopla,” an insider told Us Weekly magazine. “So the wedding will be small.”
Despite celebrating already, the pair are seemingly in no rush to become man and wife. It’s claimed they haven’t set a date for the big day, although the source adds that “it’s adorable how in love they are”.
The couple invited a host of people to their engagement party, with Johnny’s children Lily-Rose and Jack there, along with his mother and Amber’s parents. Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer attended, as did stars Steven Tyler and Mandy Moore.
News Johnny, 50, was engaged to 28-year-old Amber broke in January, although he only confirmed it while promoting his latest movie Transcendence in March.
“The fact that I’m wearing a chick’s ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway. Not very subtle,” he said at the time. “I think that I would be better at making women’s shoes than I would be at wedding planning, I can’t plan anything. I’m really bad at that stuff."
Johnny’s decision to wear a band on his ring finger has come as something of a surprise. Us Weekly has claimed the diamond ring was the one he initially presented to Amber, although it didn’t fit her so he began wearing it.
