The Golden Palm has been awarded and the 67th International Film Festival is coming to a close. We have all the highlights for you!

The Cannes International Film Festival has been one of the most important fim festivals in the world since 1946. Each year, the biggest stars gather on the Côte d’Azur to present their new productions and celebrate the most glamorous parties with high society. In 2014, actors like Jennifer Lawrence and Ryan Gosling once again presented a colourful movie mix of Hollywood blockbusters and sophisticated art-house productions.

On Saturday, the second to last day of the twelve-day festival, the trophies for the best performances in a range of categories were given out. The jury, which includes Sofia Coppola and US actor Willem Dafoe this year, awarded the most important prize – the Golden Palm – to the Turkish film ‘Winter Sleep’ by director Nuri Bilge Ceylan.

As in previous years, the Cannes Film Festival proved successful with exciting films that we can look forward to in the coming months. The biopic ‘Grace of Monaco’ with Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly was the opening film of the festival. Hollywood beau Ryan Gosling also presented his director’s debut ‘Lost River’ out of competition.
