Alec Baldwin: Biking worse than terrorism?

Alec Baldwin has joked about his arrest this week for disorderly conduct.

Alec Baldwin says New York City police consider biking more serious than terrorism.

The 56-year-old actor was arrested for disorderly conduct on Fifth Avenue Tuesday after he was caught riding his bicycle the wrong way down the street.

And Alec tells Page Six he thinks the entire situation is farcical.

“There is only one crime more serious in New York than riding a bike the wrong way down the street, and that’s terrorism,” he joked to the outlet.

“As I was stepping out of my car tonight outside the Four Seasons, a delivery guy on a bike going the wrong way down the street rode right in front of me and my wife.

“I joked to a police officer outside the restaurant, ‘There is only one crime worse in New York than riding a bike the wrong way down a street, and that’s terrorism.’ The police officer laughed.”

Alec thinks he was unlawfully singled out by the cops who arrested him because of his celebrity status and reputation for being a hothead.

“They recognised me immediately,” he recalled.

“I saw the white female cop whisper to the Hispanic cop about who I was, and then they handcuffed me. There’s a process hearing July 24, when all of this will come out.”

Alec hasn’t been shy about his thoughts on this week’s arrest.

The day of the incident he took to Twitter to express himself on the matter.

“New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity,” he wrote.

“I think handcuffing some1 4 riding a bicycle in the wrong direction is ridiculous. (sic)”
