Cressida Bonas 'panicked over royal romance'

Cressida Bonas reportedly realized she didn't want a life under the spotlight when she split from Britain's Prince Harry.

Cressida Bonas is said to have “freaked out” before she split from Britain’s Prince Harry.

It was reported at the end of last month that the couple had gone their separate ways after nearly two years of dating. The breakup is said to have been "a really tough decision” for both parties, but was made mutually.

However, it is now thought that Cressida became anxious while watching Harry’s brother Prince William and his wife the Duchess of Cambridge and their son Prince George visit Down Under.

“Cressida and Harry were happy – there was even talk of marriage. But watching William and Kate’s tour of Australia and New Zealand freaked Cressie out,” a source told British magazine Look. “She will have seen how they were followed by the world’s press every minute of the day, how people were clawing to get photos of George, and how Kate and Wills were under the microscope. I think it made her realise that isn’t the life she wants.”

The pair were reportedly set to attend their friend Guy Pelly’s wedding earlier this month, with a table set for them to be seated together. Cressida is said to have panicked at the prospect of all attention on her at the event and it is thought that contributed to them ending the relationship.

“She would have known she’d be on public display and all that attention makes her feel uneasy, so she told Harry she didn’t want to go,” the source added. “This would have caused tension with him and it seems Cressie decided they needed to call things off.”
