Aaron Carter’s effort to race to his brother, Nick’s, weekend wedding failed due to travel delays.
Nick Carter’s brother missed his wedding due to travel delays.
The Backstreet Boys singer exchanged vows with Lauren Kitt in Santa Barbara, California on Saturday afternoon, but unfortunately his younger brother wasn’t able to make it.
Apparently previous obligations and an unfortunate flight delay got in the way.
“Aaron had a contract to appear at the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC before Nick set his wedding date. Even though he was obligated to fulfill his contract, Aaron still wanted to make the wedding,” his spokesperson told E! News.
“There was a team of six people who worked to put together a plan to get him to Santa Barbara by the reception so he could at least participate in the celebration. He was on his way when his US Airways plane experienced mechanical difficulties in Pittsburgh and they became grounded there. So he never made it. Aaron was legitimately busting his a** to make it to his brother’s wedding. He felt awful and had every intention of being there.”
Aaron had posted a picture of himself stuck in transit earlier. The singer insisted he wasn’t happy about the hiccup.
“Really p****d off that I missed my brothers wedding today.. i hope he doesn’t hate me .. I tried to get there… I’m sorry bro @nickcarter#technicalProblems,” he wrote on Instagram.
Nick did have several other family members and some of his best friends by his side, including bandmates Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and AJ McLean.
And the boybander couldn’t help but gush about the nuptials on social media.
“Happiest day of my life 4-12-2014 I married my best friend and woman of my dreams. Lauren Kitt Carter honeymoon time!” he captioned a photo of the pair, adding, “To all the haters that thought it wouldn’t last…I LOVE Mrs Carter! @laurenkitt #ilovemywife#ilovebeinghusband.”
Nick proposed during a vacation to the Florida Keys in February 2013.
Recent reports have suggested their wedding was recorded for an upcoming reality TV special, produced by Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment.
It’s unclear, however, when and on what network the programme would air.
