Garfield and Stone’s ‘personal crisis’

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are said to have cancelled their Oscars appearances for “personal reasons”.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone may reportedly be experiencing a “crisis” of some sort.

The couple were scheduled to present at the 86th Academy Awards in Los Angeles Sunday night, but actor Chris Evans took their place after they cancelled their appearances at the last minute.

And according to Radar Online, loved ones are concerned they are dealing with something serious.

“It was disheartening to learn that Emma and Andrew cancelled on the Oscars and the Vanity Fair party literally last minute for a personal matter,” a source revealed to the website.

“If it were a fight or something between them one would have just came without the other, but this seemed to be more of something going on with one of their families.”

Emma’s mother Krista was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in 2008, but luckily the matriarch’s malady has been in remission for several years.

The actress is really close with her mum and some are concerned the couple’s Oscars absence may be related to a shock health issue.

“With Emma, it’s all family first. And Andrew is so devoted to her that he wouldn’t just leave her in New York dealing with some sort of crisis on her own,” the insider explained.

“Everyone just hopes Emma’s mum didn’t detect another case of cancer or something.”

Apparently the notoriously private pair aren’t planning on being in the public eye, at least for the near future.

“Emma and Andrew don’t have any other press obligations in the next two weeks, so hopefully whatever it is, they will have some time to themselves to deal with it,” the source added.

The Hollywood couple have been dating since 2011.
