Owen Wilson’s son shares his mother and father’s surnames, and has a unique moniker of his own.
Owen Wilson has named his baby boy Finn.
The 45-year-old actor and personal trainer Caroline Lindqvist welcomed their son on January 30.
TMZ released the child’s birth certificate on Tuesday, revealing the baby’s full name: Finn Lindqvist Wilson.
Little Finn is brother to Owen’s two-year-old son with ex-girlfriend Jade Duell.
While the actor is no longer with Caroline, a source told UsWeekly he’s very involved in the child’s life.
“He has been visiting his new baby almost every day. He lives right around the corner and comes by for a little bit of time each afternoon,” the insider said.
“He is planning to be a part of the baby’s life and providing financial support."
Owen has spoken previously about how much fatherhood has changed his life. The actor said it’s important to him to be a good role model, and he does the best he can.
“They say that the number one thing is to be consistent. I guess I try to do that a little bit,” he recently told ModernMom.com. “It sounds corny, but you can’t hug your kids enough and give them that confidence that they’re loved.”
Owen said that he doesn’t want to be an overprotective father, however. The Wedding Crashers star believes children are far more resilient and strong than adults realise.
“I don’t think it’s the end of the world taking and exposing your kids. I think maybe some violent stuff you would want to wait on, but, I think, sometimes, people can be overly protective,” he said. “You look at a story like Where the Wild Things Are, which I love – there’s a real edge to that story. And I think kids have a greater capacity or ability to deal with that stuff than maybe we give them credit for.”
