Jenna Ushkowitz reveals Cory Monteith will be honoured through rock music on Glee.
Jenna Ushkowitz says Glee will continue to honour Cory Monteith’s memory.
Cory tragically passed away at the age of 31 from a drug overdose on July 13, 2013 in a Vancouver hotel room.
Although an entire episode has already been dedicated to his character Finn Murphy, the actor will continue to be remembered.
“We do some more hits coming up,” Jenna told E! News. “We actually do a lot of really nice rock songs in honour of Finn.”
Finn was known for covering rock classics like Jessie’s Girl, Don’t Stop Believin’ and You Get What You Give.
The show’s creator Ryan Murphy made it clear back in October that Cory would always be a part of the show.
“I just made a decision that we keep mentioning Finn,” he explained. “We don’t just say this is done and we’re never going to go back to it, so that resonates throughout the year.”
While Jenna isn’t sure exactly what is happening next on Glee, she does know things will get shaken up with the move to New York.
The actress is thrilled to explore new sides to her character as she moves on from high school to college.
“There’s a lot of Tina Cohen-Chang coming up. She’s sort of figuring out where she’s going to go to school, if she’s going to go to New York or if she’s going to go somewhere else,” Jenna revealed. “She gets waitlisted at Brown [University] and so it’s going to be a little bit of a three-episode arc to see where she ends up.”
