Russell Brand says his relationship with Jemima Khan is “unlike anything” he’s ever experienced.
Russell Brand says his new relationship is “grounded in friendship”.
The 38-year-old British comedian ended his 14-month marriage to Katy Perry in 2011 and he is now with heiress Jemima Khan.
Although Russell is a notorious ladies’ man, he claims Jemima, 39, has forever altered his view of love.
“I am in a relationship which is unlike anything I have experienced before. I really love her. I feel that it is grounded in friendship and well cool. It is very exciting,” he revealed on UK programme the Jonathan Ross Show, before joking, “I am still superficial though. She is older than me – it’s Ethel from EastEnders, she is right filth!”
Russell reveals his lifestyle has altered tremendously since becoming involved with Jemima.
He often goes for romantic walks in pristine surroundings with his girlfriend, and he will do whatever else it takes to keep the romance alive for a long time.
“She has a dog called Brian and he is noble. We go for romps in the countryside. I am going to be really kind in this relationship and try and change myself,” he said.
“It’s an internal change. I have been meditating and thinking about spiritual stuff. This is the happiest I’ve been in this human life.”
Russell is suing UK newspaper The Sun for making accusations he slept with glamour model Sophie Coady while dating the heiress last year.
The star’s attorney formally denied allegations of infidelity in a UK court last month.
Russell previously lashed out against The Sun in an editorial published in The Guardian.
In the piece, the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star compared News Corp chief executive Rupert Murdoch to Adolph Hitler, and complained lies had been printed about his personal life.
“The pain, disruption and distress, that the Sun inflicted by falsely claiming that I cheated on my girlfriend, in the context of such awesome corruption, is a pale liver-spot on the back of Murdoch’s glabrous claw,” Russell wrote ahead of his December court date.
“Still though, it’s a tiny part of the demon’s dermatology and as such, connected to all the other pestilence.”
