Dunham’s awards night conflict

Lena Dunham says fans will see her “looking confused” on both Girls and the Golden Globes this Sunday.

Lena Dunham is torn over whether fans should watch her on the Golden Globes or on the season premiere of Girls this Sunday.

The actress is attending the awards ceremony, having been nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series.

According to Lena, people will see her looking awkward either way.

“Golden Globes and the premiere of ‘Girls,’ so people will have to make a choice about what to watch, about whether to watch me look confused at an awards show or about whether to watch the actual show,” she joked to MTV News.

Lena has more than one reason to be excited about attending the ceremony. Her boyfriend Jack Antonoff’s band Fun. has been nominated for Best Original Song – Motion Picture for their One Chance track, Sweeter Than Fiction.

“I’m so proud of him,” Lena said. “I mean that would be the craziest thing in the world [if we both won]. We’d probably beat each other over the head with them and die. I can’t even imagine.”

Lena is up against Zooey Deschanel for New Girl, Edie Falco for Nurse Jackie, Julia Louis-Dreyfus for Veep and Amy Poehler for Parks & Recreation.

Girls as a series has also been nominated for Best Television Series Comedy or Musical, against The Big Bang Theory, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Modern Family, and Parks & Recreation.
