Which artists will achieve their breakthrough in 2014?

We have three artists for you who might really take off next year.

There are so many bands around, they’re like sand on the beach. While the majority of musicians has to perform at village and school parties, or perform for their friends in a private rehearsal room, only a few artists land their longed-for record deal. And even then, the path to an international career is still long and tortuous. So now, we want to introduce you to a few interesting bands and artists who might just become the next big thing in 2014.

British singer/songwriter Tom Odell has already managed to create some hype this year with his song ‘Another Love’. Amongst other things, the song was used in a mobile phone commercial and it reached the Top 20 in several European countries. The debut album of this charismatic musician even raced straight to number 1 in the British album charts. So we can expect a lot more from Tom Odell.

Fans of sleek pop music will know US singer Austin Mahone by now. The man from Texas has already toured as the opening act for Taylor Swift at this year’s EMA, he even took two trophies home as the best upcoming talent. Just like Justin Bieber, Austin Mahone became famous through singing cover songs on YouTube and then made the big leap onto the big stage. Maybe he will also have a real breakthrough in Europe in 2014.

You should also keep an eye on US rapper Kid Ink. The Californian artist already released his first album ‘Up & Away’ in 2012. Yet, his biggest success to date has been the single ‘Show Me’ with Chris Brown, which came out in September and at least made it into the Top 50 in Germany and the UK.
