Murphy’s family ‘wants justice’

Brittany Murphy’s father is still fighting for “justice” surrounding her sudden death.

Brittany Murphy’s father “wants justice”.

The Clueless actress died suddenly at the age of 32 on December 20 in 2009, and the LA County Coroner ruled her demise an accident the following year, citing a combination of pneumonia, an iron deficiency and “multiple drug intoxication”.

Brittany’s dad Angelo Bertolotti still rejects the coroner’s findings and he will fight to keep his daughter’s passing in headlines.

“All we want is justice and we’re not getting it at this point and that’s what we want and that’s what we’re going to get,” Angelo told Access Hollywood in an interview, with his investigative journalist friend Julia Davis by his side.

With the aid of Julia, Angelo has secured independent lab tests on samples of Brittany’s hair at the time of her death. He went public with toxicology results of the first test in November, which raised suspicions the actress was poisoned, and the second test came back with similar findings.

Brittany’s husband tragically died five months after she did of similar causes and journo Julia believes doesn’t believe their deaths are a coincidence.

“There have been so many suspicious symptoms for both of them, identical symptoms that point towards poisoning, and definitely not pneumonia and anemia, because, I’ve never heard of anyone with pneumonia and anemia having severe abdominal cramps and vomiting before they died,” she explained.

“There’s a number of symptoms that just don’t add up.”

Toxicology results obtained by Brittany’s father indicate the presence of heavy metals in her body at the time of death that were up to nine times higher than what is deemed “high” by the World Health Organization. Heavy metals of this kind are normally found in rat poison or insecticides.

Angelo wants Brittany and her husband’s bodies exhumed for further testing, but the coroner’s office declined to comment on whether this will be done due to “pending legal issues”.
