Fergie’s ‘motherhood challenge’

Fergie admits being a working mom has its challenges.

Fergie says she’s still finding her “footing” with motherhood.

The 38-year-old Black Eyed Peas singer welcomed son Axl Jack with her husband Josh Duhamel on August 29.

Fergie confesses getting to grips with the demands of both her professional and parental obligations is tough right now.

“I’m still trying to find my footing. I’m still figuring out how to balance it all. I’m kind of walking like this,” she told E! News as she mimicked walking on a tightrope at a New York City event Thursday while promoting her Wet N Wild make-up line.

“But I think that’s something all new moms can relate to.”

Despite the challenges she is facing, Fergie welcomes the idea of bearing more children in the future.

She would especially like to have a baby girl to share her make-up tricks with.

“Of course, that would be amazing,” Fergie gushed.

The songstress recently admitted becoming a mom has also drastically changed her approach to music.

She confessed she’s more interested in creating nursery rhymes than writing number one singles at the moment.

“The songs that are written [lately are] little ditties and Josh and I sing them to our child,” she told America’s People magazine.

“They’re quite funny… we’re kind of like that couple on [the movie] Best In Show who sing to their pets about their pets… that’s how these songs are.”

Fergie has also revealed Axl is already very musically inclined. But she says if he doesn’t follow in her footsteps she won’t be insulted.

“He’s starting to try to talk to me and sing with me,” Fergie said.

“I’ll support him in whatever he wants to do, but it’s just really fun with me as a singer right now, getting to have that little connection.”
