Victoria Beckham is excited at the thought of her husband David being knighted.
Victoria Beckham is “thrilled” about the prospect of being a Lady.
The fashion designer’s husband David has been nominated for the New Year’s Honours List, which would see him knighted.
Having already made a name for themselves in the showbiz world Victoria can’t wait for the chance to have an official title.
“Victoria is already a part of the super-rich and loves the idea of joining the aristocracy,” an insider told British magazine Closer. “She is thrilled at the prospect of getting the Lady title – she thinks it’ll be a big two fingers up to anyone who’s ever doubted or criticised her.”
Victoria – who has three sons and a daughter with the former soccer star – is said to believe this tribute has been a long time coming. David was awarded an OBE in 2003 and this progression is a natural move for the 38-year-old star.
“Victoria really wants this knighthood for David – and it would mean a lot to her to be given a title. She feels they’ve worked so hard over the years, it really would be the icing on the cake,” the source added.
“She’s so proud of David – she thinks he’s a national hero. Being a Lady would be crowning glory for Victoria. It means a lot to her. She and David have achieved so much as a couple, but a knighthood would give them aristocratic status.”
