The Wanted have a lottery system to decide who gets the double bed on their tour bus.
The Wanted argue over who gets the double bed on their tour bus.
The British boyband comprises of Max George, Tom Parker, Nathan Sykes, Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran. They are promoting their record Word of Mouth at the moment and are also hitting the road now it’s been released.
“The easiest part is [of touring is] being on the bus,” Tom explained to BBC Breakfast.
“The only fight there is is who gets the double bed at the back. ‘Cos we’ve got Jessie J’s bus [and] we didn’t have time to turn it into a more band suited bus so there’s a big double bed at the back of the bus. We had to draw numbers to see who got it,” Nathan added.
The guys don’t swap beds each night, instead whoever wins the draw gets to relax on the double mattress for a longer period.
The idea is fine in theory, but Siva isn’t sure it will work in the long term.
“A double bed after Max? Urgh no thanks!” he laughed.
Word of Mouth was preceded by five singles and the group are used to having hits. Their debut single All Time Low took the number one spot in the UK when it came out in 2010 and the band hope to continue topping the charts.
“I think you always feel it a little,” Jay replied, when asked if the band feel pressured to get number ones. “I think we have enough in the bag now that the record label are like, ‘We’re always going to be here to support you and make whatever you feel comfortable doing happen.’ But you always want one, I love getting one, it’s sort of addictive.”
