Christina Aguilera says the spontaneity of live shows makes her nervous.
Christina Aguilera confesses that the live shows on The Voice are a scary experience.
The US version of the top singing competition has now hit the live shows, and Christina says they make her nervous.
The 32-year-old veteran singer has been in the spotlight since her childhood Disney star days, but the impromptu nature of live shows gets her worrying.
“It’s nerve-wracking now when we have to go back in there and it’s spontaneous,” she told E! TV.
“Like if you flub a word or if you say something off-the-cuff. Exactly, they can’t edit us,” agreed her co-judge Adam Levine.
The pair are also joined by singers CeeLo Green and Blake Shelton to make up the judging panel that preside over the hopeful singers.
And it’s not just live-show nerves that’s playing on the mentor’s minds. Blake admits that as the competition heats up, so does his desire to win.
“This next week coming up that’s when you’ll start to see a different side of us because this is when we really start to feel like we’re competing against each other," Blake explained.
Country music singer Blake has a second career to fall back on should it all go wrong in the music world.
The 37-year-old singer revealed to E! that he used to compete in beauty pageants as a youngster, but claims to have blocked it from his mind.“I’ve seen the pictures but I think it was one of those things where I’ve blocked it out of my memory but people keep bringing it up in public. I’m sure that mom has a video that she’ll sell for a pretty penny,” he laughed.
