Simon Cowell’s X Factor musical takes pot shots at Cheryl Cole.
Simon Cowell’s X Factor musical could ruin his friendship with Cheryl Cole.
The production, penned by British comedian Harry Hill, takes more than a few pot shots at the singer, describing her latest album as a failure and criticising her singing.
According to UK newspaper The Mirror, former X Factor judge Cheryl is mocked in a song called Here Come The Judges.
The lyrics mention a judge called Jordy, described as a “pop star from the north-east.” Jordy is also supposed to be a member of a girl group called Loud Girl Noize, a clear reference to Cheryl’s group Girls Aloud.
The 30-year-old’s L’Oreal endorsement is also made fun of, and so are her efforts to be a successful solo star.
Simon and Cheryl are still rebuilding their relationship after she was sacked as a judge for US X Factor.
She and Simon called a truce this year and he has her lined up to be a judge on next year’s UK X Factor. He also wants former judge Dannii Minogue to return, creating the same panel as the show’s heyday in 2010.
“The feeling is that 2010 was the show’s peak because it was the best possible judging line-up – and imagine the tension on that panel now,” a source told The Sun.
“Simon knows pairing him with Dannii and Cheryl, while keeping his old mate Louis Walsh to spar with, is a blockbuster combination.”
