Kanye’s proposal trade-off

Kanye West allowed proposal to be filmed as a trade-off with the media.

Kanye West reportedly staged his proposal.

The Yeezus singer is said to have agreed to allow cameras to film the event as a business compromise.

He was supposedly unhappy about the arrangement, but made the decision so that the media would stay away from his fiancée Kim Kardashian and their baby North after the child was born in June.

“[Kanye] relented and agreed to have his proposal filmed as a trade-off because he wouldn’t allow North to be filmed in the days after her birth,” a source divulged to Radar Online.

“He will have the final say on the edit, as to what is shown and how it is portrayed. But make no mistake; the proposal was a made-for-television moment. It was borderline theatrical.”

Kanye popped the question to Kim on Monday night, her 33rd birthday, at San Francisco’s baseball stadium, AT&T Park.

According to Radar there were at least two E! network cameras on hand to film it.

Since he began dating Kim, Kanye has made very few appearances on her reality TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which airs on E!.

“Kanye considers it one [of] just a handful of cameos that he will make on the show,” the family insider explained of the proposal.

It is uncertain whether the wedding itself will be shown on the popular E! show.

Either way, the nuptial ceremony is set to be a lavish affair with 36-year-old Kanye encouraging his wife-to-be to think big.

“I’d imagine there might be some trepidation given her second wedding to Kris Humphries was followed by their split — and it all aired as a special on E!,” the insider noted.

“But Kanye is urging Kim to plan her dream wedding. It is not going to be a quiet affair. It will be lavish beyond belief. Kim will have several dresses and Kanye wants her to be wearing some of the top designers from around the world.”
