Britney Spears went to British bargain store Poundland to pick up some knick-knacks.
Britney Spears loves being thrifty.
The pop star has been having a blast in the British capitol city London as she promotes her new music.
She shared a particularly fond experience buying knick-knacks in bargain store chain Poundland.
“I actually went and got these matches that are this little [cue thumb and forefinger pinched together]. They’re, like, the tiniest matches you’ve ever seen,” she gushed to Alan Carr on UK TV show Chatty Man.
“And when you use them you burn your finger… They’re so cute because they’re so tiny. They’re really cool.”
Britney Spears added that writing her new album was “like therapy”.
The 31-year-old singer ended her year-long engagement to agent Jason Trawick in January.
Britney found that songwriting helped her recover from the pain of their split.
“Yes definitely, [writing for the album] was like therapy,” she revealed. “Most of the songs are about celebrating having a good time, but I went through a break-up with this record so some of the stuff that I went through is on the record.”
Britney sang a song about adultery on her album, which is entitled Britney Jean.
But she didn’t specify exactly who the tune is about.
“There’s a beautiful ballad called Perfume and it’s about a girl that knows her boyfriend is cheating on her,” she explained.
“She just wants him to smell her perfume so she can mark her territory on him; it’s a really beautiful song.”
