Britney Spears has apparently backtracked on comments about her son joining her on stage during her Las Vegas residency.
Britney Spears claims she was “joking” about getting her sons on stage.
Last month, the singer said she wanted her eldest son Sean Preston to make an appearance during her Las Vegas residency. However, Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline was apparently against the idea and she has now backtracked on her previous comments.
“Britney’s rep tells us … she was ‘joking’ when she said Sean Preston would join her on stage,” reports TMZ.
The 31-year-old star will begin her two-year residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in December.
While announcing the series of shows last month, Britney claimed one of her kids was eager to share some of her spotlight.
“Preston will probably be on stage but I think [my other son] Jayden would have a hard time with it,” she smiled.
Shortly afterwards, Kevin was reported to be less than pleased with the plan.
“Kevin Federline is c**pping on Britney Spears’ bright idea… to put one of their sons on stage during her Las Vegas show, essentially saying, ‘Over my dead body,’” TMZ claimed.
Sean Preston previously showed off his dance moves during one of Britney’s concerts for her Femme Fatale tour.
This isn’t the first time Kevin has seemingly voiced his disapproval over matters concerning his children and Britney’s tours.
In 2009, he was said to be unhappy with his ex-wife taking the two boys on the road during her Circus tour. The matter was reportedly settled when Britney agreed to pay him $5,000 a week and cover Kevin’s expenses when he visited his sons.
