Simon Cowell reportedly wants Rita Ora to be a permanent US X Factor judge.
Simon Cowell is reportedly desperately trying to convince Rita Ora to become a permanent judge on US X Factor.
Rita had a temporary place on the panel of the UK version of the programme last year and the audience response to her was extremely positive. Simon has apparently been trying to woo her ever since, especially as ratings for the American singing competition have been flagging, reports British newspaper The Mirror.
The mogul met with Rita at his Los Angeles mansion on Wednesday night for summit talks, with his representative confirming they were discussing work of some kind.
“Rita was not there for dinner on Wednesday night. She was there for a meeting and there were business colleagues with her,” the spokesperson said.
Rita has already made it clear she is reluctant to commit to a full-time position.
“There were talks. But if I were to take on that role it would have to be at a point when I could give it my full attention,” Rita said after Simon offered her the job last year. “I have so much to accomplish first and it’s kind of a full-time job being on X Factor. It’s not like a nine to five. It’s constant, for months.”
The 22-year-old wants to have a solid musical career in place before she does something on TV.
“I love it but if I was to take on a full-time role it would be at a point when I’m loads of albums in,” explained Rita.
