Simon Cowell his hinted he may marry Lauren Silverman, but doesn't want to be at the birth of their baby.
Simon Cowell doesn’t expect his girlfriend “to be a single mother".
The music mogul has spoken candidly about his relationship with New York socialite Lauren Silverman to Ryan Seacrest during a radio interview.
Simon was asked if he was planning on a marriage as well as a baby with his new pregnant girlfriend.
“Let’s put it this way, I wouldn’t expect her to be a single mother,” he coyly replied to Ryan.
He admitted that kids were never on the cards for him and not something he’d planned for.
But his relationship with Lauren, the ex-wife of his close friend Andrew Silverman, changed that.
“I was scared of who I was going to have kids with. [But] Lauren and I get along really well and once I got used to the idea I thought, ’I think this is going to be very good,’” he said.
The couple are undecided on the birth place of their little one and are considering London or New York.
But 53-year-old Simon was adamant on one thing – his offspring would be talking the Queen’s English.“Obviously, I would have to make sure the baby has an English accent. I said to Lauren, ’What if I just play me on tape while the baby is sleeping so the baby can hear me and have a British accent.
“His first words will be, ’You’re absolutely useless!’” he laughed.
Simon got serious though when he was quizzed on where he’d be when Lauren was in the delivery room.
And it seems that 36-year-old Lauren will be without her boyfriend as she gives birth to the pair’s first child.
“I know this sounds awful, but it’s like you don’t want to go in to the restaurant while they’re making your dinner.
“I think there are certain things you shouldn’t see and that is one of them. I’ll be very close by, but no [I won’t watch]," he said.
