Lamar Odom has emerged from behind bars after being arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence, according to reports.
Lamar Odom has reportedly been released from jail on $15,000 bail.
The professional basketball player was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the early hours of Friday morning in the Los Angeles area, it is claimed.
Van Nuys police confirm to Cover Media the athlete was released from custody today.
According to X17 Online, the 33-year-old was bailed out by a legal representative.
“Lamar’s attorney came to pick him up at 8:33am. The attorney posted $15,000 bail and the two left in the same car,” officers at the Van Nuys Community Police Station reportedly told the publication.
California Highway Patrol stopped Khloé Kardashian’s husband around at 3.45am that day on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley, according to reports.
Officers allegedly saw he was driving in a “serpentine manner” and moving at a slow 50 miles per hour on the freeway. Lamar went past three exits on the road before he eventually came to pull over.
Cop sources say he showed “obvious signs of intoxication”.
It is not clear whether Lamar may have been influenced by alcohol, drugs or both but recent tabloid reports have suggested the athlete is addicted to crack cocaine. Other sources recently told Radar Online he is hooked on a painkiller OxyContin.
A spokesperson for Lamar has declined to comment on those claims.
Lamar was also said to have been visited by drug counsellors who work with the National Basketball Players Association two hours before he was put in handcuffs.
His meeting with former NBA players Dirk Minniefield and Cliff Robinson, who have battled substance abuse themselves, “was very positive”, a source told TMZ.
Lamar has also been hit by allegations he cheated on his wife Khloé and today it was revealed her younger brother Rob knew about Lamar’s alleged drug use.
The basketball star’s family, who haven’t spoken to him in just under a year, are behind him 100 per cent.
“Of course, all of us in the family are upset about what’s going on,” his cousin Michael Mercer told Celebuzz.
“We’re here for Lamar in whatever he needs. He knows where we are and we support him. This is all very new. I had no knowledge of it.
“If that is what’s allegedly going on and he needs help, he would get my support. If he needs to call or just lay low and get help, we are 100 per cent behind him.”
Radar recently published sensational claims Lamar was arrested in 1997 for solicitation of a prostitute in Las Vegas.
According to the website, his spouse has no idea about his alleged Sin City shenanigans as a 17-year-old.
“Lamar approached a woman he believed to be a prostitute,” a source said. “When Lamar solicited her for sex, he was immediately arrested because the woman was actually an undercover cop, and was conducting a sting in the area.”
Lamar’s agent and spokesperson has not yet replied to Cover Media’s request for comment.
