Tomlinson: Depp is top bloke

Louis Tomlinson from One Direction was delighted to hang out with Johnny Depp in Hollywood.

One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson thinks Johnny Depp is a “top bloke”.

The 21-year-old got to meet the actor as he toured the United States with bandmates Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik recently.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star chilled out with them in his home.

“Going to Johnny’s was pretty surreal. It was ace but strange,” Louis admitted to British newspaper The Sun.

“He invited us round to meet his kids as he couldn’t make it to our show. We didn’t perform, we just hung out.

“We were round there for a good two or three hours — he’s a top bloke.”

Despite being in awe of the screen favourite from the outset, Louis found the experience weird to begin with as they were strangers.

“The first 20 minutes were a bit awkward but then it was fine,” he confessed.

“We didn’t talk much about work, just how we were finding it all.

“His house is so cool though, as you can imagine.”

Louis also revealed that Johnny hooked them up with a fun time in Los Angeles.

The group is too young to drink at bars in America so they attended a star-studded house party.

“We were asking where we could go — not being legal to drink — so Johnny sorted it,” he shared.

“He couldn’t go but said it was fine for us to and I’m pretty sure it was Sin City director Robert Rodriguez’s bash.

“It was a crazy party — really full-on, so Hollywood, like in the movies.”

One Direction’s film This Is Us is released in cinemas at the end of the month. The documentary sees them soar far above rival band The Wanted’s fame.

Louis thinks it’s ridiculous the group, including Jay McGuiness, continue to challenge them. He is incensed that Max George recently labelled him “a d**k” during an interview with Fabulous magazine.

“Whatever, Max. He’s nothing,” Louis said.

“That Jay’s a bit of a p***k. He sent me a really long message trying to patronise me… I replied with something immature but f**k it.”
