Robert Pattinson shoved a security guard while exiting a Los Angeles nightclub.
Robert Pattinson slammed his hand into a man’s face Friday night.
The 27-year-old Twilight actor was surrounded by paparazzi who were taking flash photos of him while he attempted to exit the Troubador nightclub in Hollywood.
A six-man security detail escorted the star from the venue’s back door to his chauffeured sports utility vehicle.
In footage obtained by TMZ, just before Robert enters the back seat of his car he is seen shoving a man’s face with his hand.
Paparazzi immediately began yelling, “Why’d you hit him?” while the security guard searched for the glasses that got knocked off his face.
As the guard picked his glasses up from the ground he remarked, “He grabbed me on my face”.
Just after the altercation Robert appeared cross as he sat in the backseat of the black SUV alongside a couple unidentified friends.
The star’s head was in his hands at points and he seemed to be scowling.
Leaving the alleyway was difficult for Robert’s entourage as the car had to manoeuvre through a horde of paparazzi in its path.
It is believed that Robert assaulted the man because he mistook the guard for a photographer.
Robert recently split from his partner of three years and Twilight co-star, Kristen Stewart.
The pair were on the rocks for about a year after Kristen confessed to cheating on him in the summer of 2012.
It is rumoured the former flames are speaking again, as Robert was spotted visiting his ex-girlfriend’s home in Los Angeles’ Los Feliz neighbourhood for hours a few weeks back.
