Usher’s five-year-old son is recovering from a serious swimming accident, according to a new report.
Usher’s five-year-old son has reportedly been admitted to an intensive care unit following a “serious accident” in the singer’s pool.
TMZ reports Usher Raymond V was swimming at his father’s Atlanta, Georgia home with his aunt on Monday at approximately 6 p.m. when his injuries occurred.
The child reportedly saw a toy in the drain and dove down to get it.
“The aunt immediately dove in to rescue him but couldn’t get his hand out. The maid then dove in and tried but was also unsuccessful,” the outlet claims.
The maid reportedly screamed for help, at which point two men working inside the home rushed to the boy’s aid.
Usher Raymond V was given CPR and rushed to a local hospital via ambulance.
Usher was not home at the time of the incident, according to the report.
He did however arrive in time to accompany his son in the ambulance en route to the hospital.
“Doctors have been running a series of tests and doctors say he’ll be ok,” TMZ claims.
The singer shares Usher Raymond V with his ex-wife, Tameka Raymond.
The former couple also share four-year-old son Naviyd.
Both parents are said to be at their son’s bedside.
The accident follows little over a year after Tameka’s 11-year-old son from a previous relationship passed away following a jet ski accident that left the child brain dead.
The family has yet to issue comment about the reported swimming incident.
