Prince Harry will ensure his nephew “has a good upbringing”.
Prince Harry will ensure his nephew is kept “out of harm’s way”.
The 28-year-old British royal became an uncle on Monday when his brother Prince William and wife Catherine Middleton welcomed baby boy George Alexander Louis into the world.
During a viewing for exhibition The Sentebale: Stories of Hope at the Getty Images Gallery in London, Harry described his experience of meeting little George for the first time.
He was finally able to spend time with George on Wednesday after William and Catherine returned home to Kensington Palace from St. Mary’s Hospital with the tot Tuesday night.
Harry said the third heir in line to the throne was “crying his eyes out, like all babies” during the visit, but he still managed to get a “cuddle” from the balling baby.
So far Harry is overcome with happiness over being an uncle.
“It’s fantastic to have an addition to the family. I only hope my brother knows how expensive my babysitting charges are!” he joked to reporters.
Harry takes being an uncle very seriously.
He won’t allow George to get into too much trouble.
“[I need] to make sure he has a good upbringing, to keep him out of harm’s way and make sure he has fun,” Harry detailed. “The rest of it I leave to the parents.”
Harry can’t tell whether George favours his mother or father more.
He asks the public to figure that out for him.
“I think you can judge that one for yourself. I’ve no idea,” he said.
